Mobile Marketing is An interactive Way to Reach the Consumers

The world of technology has opened up numerous avenues for marketing executives all over the world who are making the most of each given opportunity. Adding to the long list of different marketing mediums, one of the latest is the Mobile Marketing technique which seems to have caught on really well with consumers.

There are a number of ways that marketing companies have used the mobile phone to advertise their products. One of the most popular methods is to send an SMS that gives details about the product or service which the consumer may be interested in. Most of the countries in North America and Europe enjoy this kind of marketing as the consumer is given a choice to either agree to receiving the advertise or not. However, in a lot of other countries, especially in Asia this mode of advertising is very successful but there is also a bigger problem of SPAM SMS which annoy mobile users. To avoid this now, it is mandatory in a lot of countries to give the mobile user the choice to either receive or not receive different marketing promotions and advertisements.

As the mobile phone technology has improved, so has the marketing technique. After SMS, the next big marketing method is to use MMS. This method was found to be more successful than SMS because the advertisers could use colorful pictures, audio and also video to lure their consumers into buying their product. However, the problem with this technique is that not a majority of people who use mobile phones have phones that support MMS. However, this is fast becoming obsolete as most of the latest mobile phones that are sold in the market have the MMS facility.

Another addition to mobile marketing is in-game mobile marketing. A number of phones allow users to plan the latest 3-D and other multi-player networking games. When the mobile user plays these games they get to view the advertisements which are shown during the game play.

But the soon to be biggest mobile marketing method is the mobile web marketing technique which uses online advertisements for mobile phones which can connect to the web. The reason method has the potential of becoming the biggest mobile advertising method is because more and more cell phones today allow users to get online and this is one service that everyone would want on their cell phone a few years down the line.

Apart from all the methods that have been mentioned above there are a couple of other ways by which companies advertise on mobile phones such as via Bluetooth and via infrared. Bluetooth technology was used to advertise products in Europe in 2003, whereas infrared was used by European companies in the early 1990's making the oldest form of mobile marketing.
