Whether you're running a business or marketing your products or services, your custom business cards are often the very first things that create that first impression with your target clients. Your business card printing and the message that goes with it ultimately determines whether you're remembered or gets thrown in the garbage bin.

Giving out your custom business cards is vital to marketing your business to potential clients. Often your business card printing speaks volumes about who you are, what your company stands for, and what you have to offer to your target clients. It's the 'you' brand that you want to promote.

As it can affect the way your target clients see you, your custom business cards should always make a positive impression every time. Thin, inexpensive paper can only mean one thing - you don't value quality, and your stability and financial capability as a company is compromised.

While this doesn't necessarily mean that you have to shell out so much for die-cut and hi-tech cards done by a professional business card printing company. It just shows that you have to consider carefully the type of cards you create. Understanding that the quantity, design, paper quality, inks, as well as images affect your printing costs, can help you save time and money.

Pre-designed cards. - Most business card printing companies offer pre-designed layouts to help you create your cards at a much faster rate. Since your layout is ready-made, all you have to do is to customize the cards by adding your name, company name and contact information.

Quality of paper. - You wouldn't want your target client's impression of you slowly fade at the same time that your low-end paper shred to pieces just because they accidentally spilled water onto it. Avoid getting your custom business cards torn, wrinkled or even smeared. Choose higher quality of paper with affordable prices. Linen or fiber-stone paper can give you quality without having to pay too much for it.

Adding color. - Remember to add standard colors to your design. This would help you save on the inks that will be used during the printing process as they generally drive up your costs. Ask for varying shades to lessen the use of color inks.

Master copies. - To further save you on costs later on, ask your printer to store master copies of your print cards. You can then use this copy for the next batch so you won't have to pay again for the setup and production costs.

And finally, keep it simple when adding graphics to your cards. Pictures and logos often drive up your bill because they require additional colors and inks. By using a simple and clean design, you'll be able to lower your printing costs and still have quality cards for your business.
