For anybody new to MLM (multi level marketing) or Network Marketing as it is also known, after the initial burst of enthusiasm dies down, the reality of the challenge of success can be a little daunting. Often after a few setbacks people simply give up. So what is it that separates those who go on to do really well from those who don't? Here are the 4 key ingredients you need to succeed.

1) Believe in yourself

As anybody who has done any kind of sales job knows, you have to ride the rollercoaster, enjoy the highs while they last and see the dips for what they are. It is simply impossible to have a good day every day. Believe in your abilities to succeed at what you are doing. Ask yourself- if other people can succeed at this, why can't I? It all boils down to the numbers game. Those people in the industry making the big money are the people who've approached not just hundreds, but thousands of people. One MLM millionaire, when asked the secret of his success, said: 'there's no secret, just numbers. I approached 1100 people, of those 1100, 300 people were interested, of those 300, 70 signed up, of those 70, 30 people took it seriously, and of those 30, 5 people made me a millionaire'. Believe that you have the ability to rise above the rest.

2) Believe in your network

You must believe that your MLM network is the right vehicle to take you there. It is a long and difficult journey, and without a vehicle that's built for the job, it is going to be a lot more difficult to go there. You may even break down completely! But make sure that nobody is going to overtake you using less gas by being in a better vehicle. Research the industry thoroughly before making your decision, and if you have already joined a network, make sure you are in the right one for you. 3)Believe in the product

Sales is a near impossible task if you don't believe that the product you are trying to sell would really be of benefit to the person you are trying to sell it to (unless you are an evil salesman!). You might find an MLM network that has a great compensation package, but if the products are not good enough for you to really believe in , and to fill you with the enthusiasm needed to tell people about them, then perhaps you need to keep looking, or move on.

4)Believe in the industry

There are plenty shady dealers out there giving network marketing a bad name, and you are sure to come across plenty of people who shut off as soon as they understand that you are talking about MLM. These are the people who just need a little more work. And don't let any bad experiences put you off the industry altogether either- it is worth remembering after all that this is the industry that has produced more millionaires in the U.S. than any other.
